Snapshots
by Heather Marie Photography
Hey mama, I love a good Target run as much as the next person, but in this economy, my money is going where it counts. And I promise you nothing you can buy in a store will give you as much satisfaction as photos of your babies in 20 years! So instead of spending your hard earned money on Starbies & Target runs, let’s capture the magic of childhood with our portrait sessions just for your favorite little people! Let’s freeze those Pigtails, scrunched noses, belly laughs, and long beautiful eyelashes in time.
As a former teacher with two littles at home, I know just the tricks to get your kiddos to feel comfortable so we can capture photos that authentically reflect your child's unique personality. From spontaneous laughter to inquisitive gazes, we craft timeless portraits in studio with a clean white backdrop.
Let’s preserve the joy of their childhood in photos you will cherish for decades!

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why are all available spots for the same time?
All bookings are within the same hour timeframe. I do this for one main reason - as a mom, I know how hard it is to get children ready and on time for a 10 minute window. This means if you're running a little late - no worries! For this reason, I take families in the order in which they arrive. You may have to wait 10-15 minutes once you arrive. There is usually plenty of seating in my lobby area as well as snacks for the kids! Take this time to take one final look at your kids and make sure their clothes are all straightened and faces are wiped clean.
Q: I booked a session, now what?
About two weeks before your session, expect to receive a prep guide from me via e-mail. The prep guide will have some last minute tips for parents, a style guide, my cell phone number and the address for the studio.
Q: What should my child wear to his or her studio session?
I want you to choose an outfit that best represents their personality. That being said, I do suggest sticking as simple and timeless as possible. Think about a style that was popular when you were a kid that still hasn’t aged - denim, simple dresses for little girls. Bright and jewel toned colors photograph very well with the white backdrop. Neutrals also tend to give a timeless look. If you still need help, feel free to message me and i’ll be happy to guide you!
Q: How should we prepare for photo day?
This is often times the first interaction your kiddos have with a photographer, and you know your child best! If they tend to have stranger danger, it may be helpful to explain you’re going to meet a new friend who will they get to play with and take some pictures.
It’s also super helpful to make sure faces, clothes, and visible skin is all clean and photo-ready! I have baby wipes & lotion in studio, but taking a look when before entering is important.
Q: How long does a session take?
It truly depends on the warm up time for each child! Some kids are born personalities and I can get a variety of images in 3-5 minutes. However, having practice from doing volume work with preschools, I generally can capture everything we need in under 10 minutes.
Q: What age is this type of session for?
I do prefer that your child is able to hold their head up independently. Around 5-6 months we can some great tummy shots and I can use mom/dad to help get some “headshots”. I don’t have a cap on age. Snapshots is just that - a short fun photo session. Bring it on, grandma!
Q: Can we do sibling photos?
My priority during a session is for the individual shots. After we get those, I am happy to attempt a sibling shot and can usually get one or two - but I can’t make any promises!
Q: What can I expect after photo day?
You will receive an email from me within 2 weeks with a link to view your full gallery in both color and black and white. Depending on the package you purchased you can download your images and order prints from there. Prints will either arrive at your house or be ready for pickup in studio about a week after you place your order.
